Washers we fix
What we hear on washer calls
Washers fail in a handful of familiar ways. The drain pump stalls on a sock or a hair tie. The door lock stops confirming, so the control will not fill or spin. Shock absorbers or suspension rods wear out and the tub knocks on every spin. We meter the drain pump, the lock and the motor wiring, read the stored fault history when the machine keeps one, and price the fix before we start replacing anything.
Will not drain
A blocked pump filter or coin trap, a jammed impeller, or a drain hose crushed behind the cabinet.
Stops before the spin
Often the door or lid lock, sometimes an unbalanced-load sensor or a worn drive belt.
Knocking and walking
Worn shock absorbers on front-loaders, stretched suspension rods on top-loaders, or a cabinet that sits out of level.
Leaks at the front
A split door boot, a drain-filter cap not screwed home, or suds overflowing in our soft water.
Will not fill
Clogged inlet screens, a failed water inlet valve, or supply valves that were never opened all the way.
Musty smell and mildew
Water trapped in the door seal and the sump. A closed laundry closet in the damp months makes it worse.
In your home
Washer Repair where the washer stands
Seattle housing adds its own twist. Front-loaders in tight closets and stacked units in condos are common, and many sit upstairs, so a slow leak can reach the ceiling below before anyone sees it. If you find water on the floor, close the supply valves and switch off the circuit; we take it from there.
Seattle tap water is very soft, which is kind to heating elements but easy to oversuds. Use about half the HE detergent the bottle calls for, and suds-lock errors and slow drains often disappear. In older houses the washer may sit on a basement slab or a wooden floor; we check level and standpipe height on every visit, since both affect draining and noise.
How a visit goes
From your call to a working machine
- 1
Tell us what is wrong
Ring us or fill in the booking card: which machine, what it does, your ZIP. A person calls back to agree on a time, any of the seven days, 8 AM–7 PM.
- 2
A meter, not a hunch
At your door the technician confirms power first, runs a cycle, then takes readings on the parts that fit the symptom. The diagnosis comes from numbers on the meter.
- 3
A cost you can hold
Before a screw is turned, the repair cost is written out for you. Say yes, and the visit charge is swallowed by that figure. Say no, and only the trip gets billed, with our notes left in your hands.
- 4
Fixed, and on paper
Igniters, pumps, fuses and valves ride along in the van, which lets plenty of jobs close out in a single trip. Parts we need to order get a return date pinned down before we leave. Your invoice lists the warranty in plain terms.

FAQ
Washers: questions we hear
Can you fix a stacked pair in a closet?
Yes. We slide the pair out, separate them when the job needs it, and set them back on level feet. Leave a little room in front of the closet so we can work.
Is an eight-year-old washer worth fixing?
Usually, if the trouble is a pump, a lock or a valve. If the bearings or the outer tub are gone, we spell that out at the first visit and you decide with the written figure in hand.
The washer shows an error code. Should I tell you?
Yes. Pass along the code and the model when we call back; with both in hand the technician packs the part most likely to be needed.
Do you service LG and Whirlpool-family washers under warranty?
Yes. As an LG and Whirlpool authorized company, which covers Maytag, KitchenAid and Amana too, we handle covered repairs ourselves. Other makes we repair as regular visits.
What should I do before you arrive?
If the machine still answers its buttons, try a drain-only cycle, take the laundry out, and clear the space in front of the door. If it is leaking, close the water valves behind it.
Put your machine on our schedule
Describe the trouble and we ring back to fix a time and quote the visit charge. The repair figure goes on paper, and nothing gets unscrewed until you have read it and said yes.
